Battlefield Framework

The overall structure of the field which, at a tactical level of war, consists of four interrelated concept: area of interest, battlespace, area of operations, and battlefield organization. The battlefield framework provides a way for commanders to relate their forces to the enemy in terms of time, space and purpose. The battlefield framework applies both linear and noncontiguous operations.
