Breaching Force

1. During an attack of an enemy fortified position or strongpoint, the breaching forces are those elements charged with breaching obstacles along an avenue of approach. Breaching forces clear enemy trenches, bunkers, and foxholes, and create and hold open a breach in the enemy positions. (AFPM 3-8-1) 2.
