An area, barangay or community that is given priority for clearing operations to be conducted by the security forces before undertaking extensive socio-economic projects aimed at uplifting the economic lives of its inhabitants: the conduct of these socio-economic projects will carried out by a multi-agency task force that will "converge" on the target area, barangay or community, hence the tem "convergence zone"
