Course of Action

1. Any sequence of activity that an individual member or a military unit may follow. 2. In war gaming, the possible COAs available to each warring party are explored along with their respective consequences and the reactions of the other parties. 3. A possible plan which is open to an individual or commander that would accomplish or is related to the accomplishment of the mission. 4. A feasible way to accomplish a task or mission which follows the guidance given, will not result in undue damage/risk to the command, and is noticeably different from other actions being considered.
