Meeting Engagement

1. a. A principle of war. A combat action that occurs when a moving force, incompletely deployed for battle, engages an enemy at an unexpected time and place. The enemy force may be either stationary or in motion. b. The combat action which occurs when a moving force incompletely deployed for combat, engages an enemy force about which it has inadequate intelligence. The enemy force may be static or in motion. (AFPM 3-8-1) 2. A combat action that occurs when a moving force, incompletely deployed for battle, engages an enemy at an unexpected time and place.
