This publication provides concepts and basic guidance necessary for the conduct of airborne operations of the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), SOCOM, PA. It will assist airborne commanders in planning each phases of airborne operations.      The publication describes airborne operation as an operation involving the air movement of combat forces and their logistical support into a given area or objective for the execution of tactical, operational or strategic mission.      This publication applies to the following: Army personnel involved in the conceptualization and development of army doctrine and tactics, techniques and procedures Members of groups constituted to review and update army doctrine Education and training developers, managers, and implementers Senior leaders authorized to approve and promulgate army doctrine.
