This manual expands doctrine contained in PAM 2-00 and seeks to establish doctrinal principles and concepts for Information Assurance. Its contents are oriented on active or passive measures primarily designed to counter potential and real enemy initiatives and to safeguard ones organization and capability against enemy actions. It integrates topics that serve as valuable guide in the conduct of counter-intelligence operations in the local setting. Specific procedures however are provided in other doctrine manual.      PAM 2-04 is designed for use by commanders, staffs and trainers at the tactical environment. It is a valuable reference material for Army schools and as basis for counter-intelligence operations doctrine and combat developments.
