Purpose      This Manual provides the fundamental principle to guide SF commanders and their supported unit commanders on the proper employment of SF units. It describes the role of SF in all levels of conflict, its operations and capabilities. It also provides general guidelines on the employment of SF units command relationship to conventional forces. Scope and Applicability      This Special Forces Manual describes SF roles, missions, capabilities, organization, command and control, employment, training. It provides general guidance on how to plan and prepare SF units for commitment and to direct and sustain those SF units after commitment. The user should understand that this manual articulates the visions of the SF leadership from the Regiment to the company level.
