
This publication provides guidance for the Philippine Army Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD). It describes SHORAD as part of the larger air defense artillery operations and air and missile defense within the Philippine Army. The Army SHORAD is also part of the integrated and joint air defense system of the AFP. It establishes the priorities for the deployment of units, employment principles, and tactics, techniques, and procedures applicable to SHORAD. This will also serve as reference for the following: Army personnel involved in the conceptualization and development of SHORAD doctrine (tactics, techniques and procedures). Members of groups constituted to review and update SHORAD doctrine Education and training developers, managers, and implementers. Senior leaders authorized to approve and promulgate Army doctrine. The proponent of this manual is the Army Artillery Regiment. However, Doctrine and Capability Integration Center (P), Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army is responsible for reviewing and updating of this publication.
